Spring is in the air!
Rainy Day Village Network promotes a thriving community
through our network of neighborly support.
Spring is in the air and hope is on the horizon as folks in our area begin to sign up for vaccines. Rainy Day Village remains optimistic that as these events progress we will be able to open, providing services and offering opportunities to connect with other villagers. We are hopeful that as life begins to return to normal, we can continue to recruit volunteers, sign up members and become a more integral active part of this community.
When you’re dreaming about your post-pandemic life, think about volunteering for the village. We’ll keep you informed about opportunities both online, and in person, to join as a member, sign up to volunteer or join a leadership team. Safety however, remains our top priority for all our villagers.
The Rainy Day Village Steering Committee is in touch with our hub Villages NW. We're receiving regular updates about Village operations during this time of physical distancing and about how, and when, Portland villages will move toward full operations again. We are all following State,Tillamook County and local health guidelines.
When business as usual shut down the Steering Committee was in the midst of training volunteers and scheduling introductory visits to our prospective members. These activities that require face-to-face interactions and home visits have been put on hold. Since we have no formally enrolled members at this point, all of those who have expressed interest in Rainy Day Village are considered “villagers”.
Although this gives the Steering Committee some breathing room to dot our I’s and cross our T’s, get our documents finalized, spend a little more time fine tuning our policies and procedures, it also means revisiting our mission and ways in which we desire to serve our village community.
